Greg Gamble, Director of Product Development and Quality

The first step towards keeping our promise is through our new Director of Product Development and Quality, Greg Gamble. A Wisconsin native who has relocated to Cincinnati, Greg brings with him 28 years of experience in the food and flavor business, something we are excited to tap into here at Savor. Greg says he grew up in the industry and describes himself as “old spice”. His favorite part about his job is seeing the products on the market, especially jerky, frozen pizza, snack foods, and sauces.

Outside of the office, Greg is a big sports fan. Fantasy football is a favorite pastime, as well as watching baseball. He also enjoys coaching his kids and watching them grow up through sports teams.

This experience, love for innovative products, and desire to teach the next generation are attributes that we are looking forward to partnering with at Savor. Greg’s experience means he knows what has already been done. Combining that with his desire to reach customers in new ways will result in flavors no one has ever tried before. And his experience with coaching will be such an asset when it comes to training the next generation of flavor-vators as they lead the charge into the future of deliciousness!

The next step is to look at our processes and evaluate what serves us as we serve you, and what needs to be left behind. As we continue to grow, our use of technology, specifically AI, will be put to good use. Most might hear “AI” and think of the robots we are seeing more often in the stores, shopping for customers, or maybe something more science fiction, with robots taking over and ruining humanity as we know it. Rest assured, no evil robots here!

AI instead will be a tool for our company to do things like evaluate trends amongst customers (does Customer A prefer sweet or spicy snacks based on their previous purchase history?). We’re also embracing AI as a powerful tool to support our teams, especially in areas like marketing, training, and document writing. By leveraging AI, we can better understand trends, streamline communication, and support our team’s creativity and productivity as we develop the next big flavors.

In addition to AI innovation, we recently expanded our quality and product development labs, giving our teams more space to store samples, grow our capabilities in areas like sauces and meats, and enhance our processes for evaluating raw materials and finished goods. The updated, customer-friendly environment also allows us to better host visitors and provide a hands-on look at our work.

Our final step towards providing the best quality product is investing in automation to improve processes and standardize practices. Automation means that we can streamline processes like product development, which will reduce wasted time and product and help us strive toward improved efficiency. Standardizing practices ensures that our team is on the same page all the time, every time, and our customers can rest easy knowing that the quality of the work we provide for them will be the same the 1000th time as it was the first time.

They say there is nothing new under the sun, and that might be true. But we at Savor think that with the right people leading the charge into the future, as well as the right tools in their belts, we will be able to discover something new and bring it to you!
